For the month of February, I bought another book. It’s entitled Prize Stories: The O. Henry Awards 1985 – a collection of short stories that were published in the period from the summer of 1983 to the summer of 1984. This book is the 65th volume in the O. Henry Memorial Awards series. The stories here are more contemporary versions of the Maupassant tradition (well, I think!).
I like this book – it’s kinda old, and I was totally pleased to have bought it for 77 php (less than 2$)at the city mall here. It’s a collection of 21 contemporary American short stories. Some of the writers of these stories include my personal favorites: Tobias Wolff, Joyce Carol Oates and John Updike.
Last month, I bought a spoof version of Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet. That book, is entitled The Profit which was written by Kehlog what’s-his-complete-name-i-forgot.
