My Neighbor

We have so much in common, to name a few –

loud amplifiers and stuck fish bones in our throats.

We have no words left

to utter.

We have hands cramped to express

our hearts bursting for actual spoken sounds

that are never formed.

Word after word

separated by spaces –

only we have wider and too much.

We can have a crash course onĀ  quietness

and end up as deaf-mutes

end up writing letters in dust,

like we used to do.
